Thankfully, police officers, Josh Lowther and Stephen Rogers, who were out on patrol, witnessed the incident.
The two heroic cops ran across the road and tackled the thief.
The stolen phone was retrieved and given back to its owner.
Kadi Nasser, 25, was taken into custody and charged with theft.
The incident in Soho, London, last month was captured on CCTV, as reported by Need To Know.

Nasser pleaded guilty at Westminster Magistrates Court and was handed a 30-week jail sentence.
The Met Police’s DS, Saj Hussain, said: “Robbery and theft are invasive and often violent crimes.
“I want to applaud the quick-thinking actions of these two officers for returning the victim’s phone, putting a street thief behind bars and helping to make London safer.
“Met officers are targeting resources to hotspot areas with increased patrols and plain-clothes officers.
“These deter criminals and make officers more visibly available to members of the community.
“We encourage people to report as soon as they can whenever they have been a victim of robbery or theft, so officers can attend the scene and investigate swiftly.”
