A clip has gone viral of hotel cleaners tidying a room that has gotten into quite a mess.

The point of the video, which left viewers appalled, was to reveal how some tourists leave their hotel rooms.

Filmed on the party island of Ibiza, one of the cleaners can be seen sweeping a grim mix of all kinds of things into a pile on the floor.

From vapes, alcohol, sweets, empty takeaway boxes, cotton wool and underwear, the woman does her best to clean the space.

In the background, another member of the cleaning staff – Sandra Carmona, 47 – can be heard in total disbelief at how the rooms can be left in such a state.

Sandra said: “How can people come here, from lots of different countries and do this?

“It’s not normal to mess up a room like this when you party.

“They even leave their thongs, their tampons… what were these foreigners thinking?

“Poor cleaners. We should earn extra for this.”

The video has amassed over two million views and more than 7,000 comments, as reported by Need To Know.

It is not known where the guests were from, however some Brits took to the comments to express their thoughts.

Steve wrote: “Do not represent me.”

Chris said: “Completely normal British tourist behaviour.”

Others showed sympathy for the women.

“Cleaners are not recognised,” commented Rosa.

Carlos added: “Easy. Force them to pay a deposit and if they leave it like that, that money will go to the cleaning staff.”
