Horror photos show the cruelty of dog ear cropping – as an animal charity warns that people are using “DIY kits” to perform the procedure.
The shocking images show puppies with their ear flaps removed and a pair of bloodied scissors.
Clamps and earbuds were also found as part of the kits.

The RSPCA says ear clipping procedures carried out on dogs have increased by more than 2000% in the last 10 years.
“Litters of puppies with cropped ears can be worth tens of thousands of pounds, and people are making a huge business out of the pain of helpless dogs,” an extract of the RSPCA caption reads.

“Together, we must stand against cruelty and continue to be there for the animals who desperately need our help.”
Horrified pet lovers shared their outrage online with an Instagram post getting over 3,700 likes, reports Need to Know.

Chloe Mclachlan wrote: “This is utterly disgusting. How can you do that to any dog let alone babies?”
Another person said: “There needs to be a complete ban on this procedure just like GFM. Anyone found owning a dog with cropped ears should be fined £10,000 unless the dog has been re-homed via a charity.”

Someone else added: “Oh my God. This is horrific and so upsetting to see. What these poor babies must go through is truly heartbreaking.”
Emily Faye Miller said: “Vile humans.”
Another person added: “How absolutely barbaric.”
Someone else said: “It’s absolutely amazing the work that you do but animal cruelty seems to be increasing by the day. Fines, bans and prison sentences need to be increased. The law is letting animals down each and every day.

“I feel incredibly sad and angry in equal measures.”
According to the RSPCA’s website, ear cropping is an “entirely unnecessary surgical procedure in which a dog’s ears are removed or altered”.

It has no benefits for the dog and can cause permanent damage.
The cruel practice became illegal in the UK in 2006 but is still legal in other parts of the world.
The charity’s website states that ear cropping is generally done on puppies between six and 12 weeks and is popular in cane corsos and American bullies.
The procedure is usually carried out for purely aesthetic or cosmetic reasons often because the owner wants to achieve a particular look.
