According to the police, her former boyfriend arrived at her home on a motorbike taxi.
The pair then became embroiled in a heated row.
The unnamed suspect allegedly stabbed her multiple times in front of her two-year-old daughter from another relationship.
He then asked the taxi rider to take the young girl to her father’s house before fleeing the scene on foot.
He reportedly sent an audio message to the father that said: “The problem is over.”
The police were called to the victim’s house in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday night (2 Sept) where they found Martha’s body.
