A restaurant that featured on Kitchen Nightmares has announced its soon closure – just a year after Gordon Ramsay attempted to save it.
Da Mimmo, located in New Jersey, US, featured on the show in its eighth and latest season.
Owner and ex-police officer Melissa Gigante called in the famous chef after realising she was $2.5 million in debt and struggling to keep afloat.

Her sons, Vincent, Antonio and Vito also worked in the restaurant, as reported by Need To Know.
As soon as Gordon arrived he got to work with the family, testing their dishes, teaching the staff and joining in in the kitchen.
In the episode, when tasting the pizza Gordon said: “The middle was soggy, the outside was crispy, and the mozzarella was just processed.”
The TV chef also pointed out dead mussels, slimy chicken, and rotten vegetables used in their meals.
Gordon also slammed two of the Gigante brothers for doing very little to help promote Da Mimmo, despite their huge presence online – with the family having amassed over 10 million followers on TikTok.
And Ramsay called the brothers “snowflakes”.
But by the time he left Da Mimmo in October 2023, it was a sparklingly clean restaurant with a new menu, updated decor and happy staff.
However, under a year on, it has been discovered that even Gordon’s efforts couldn’t save it.
In a post posted to Instagram by the Da Mimmo account, they said: “It is bittersweet to announce that we will be closing our doors on Monday, September 30.
“Launching and growing this family restaurant in such a wonderful community has been an incredible experience, Gordon Ramsay and all.
“We are so grateful for the support we’ve received and the memories we’ve created here.
“This journey has opened new doors for our talented pizza chef Antonio, allowing him to flourish and explore exciting, new opportunities.
“While we are sad to say goodbye, we are excited for what’s ahead.
“We hope you’ll join us in our final days and help us celebrate the chapter of our Dumont story.
“Thank you for being part of our journey!”
