A mother and her six-year-old daughter who tragically lost their lives in a car crash in East Ayrshire have been identified as 32-year-old Rebecca Hill and her daughter, Arianna Aliu.
The fatal accident occurred on Tuesday evening on the A76, close to its junction with the B713, between the villages of Catrine and Auchinleck.
Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a single-vehicle collision at approximately 5 p.m.

Arianna was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Her mother, Rebecca Hill, who had been driving the white Volkswagen Passat, was transported to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
Police Scotland confirmed that the victims’ relatives have been informed, and specialist officers are providing them with support during this heartbreaking time.
Inspector Kenny Malaney extended his condolences to the family, stating, “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic incident at this extremely difficult time.”
He also expressed gratitude to the members of the public who stopped to assist and called for emergency services.
The road was closed for about seven hours as investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.
Authorities are continuing to carry out extensive inquiries and have called for any potential witnesses or those with dashcam footage to come forward.
Inspector Malaney specifically urged anyone who may have seen the Passat prior to the crash to get in touch.
This devastating incident has left the local community in mourning as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the crash.
