Four people were injured when their golf buggy’s brakes failed and they hurtled down a slope at breakneck speed.

CCTV footage shows how the small vehicle careened down the steep road.

Despite its blistering speed, the person behind the wheel skilfully managed to guide the buggy around the curves in the narrow road.

It tilted perilously as it neared the dead end at the bottom of the slope.

It then smashed through a wooden barrier and disappeared from view several yards from the shoreline.

The golf buggy was left a mangled wreck when it landed on its side on the grass at Pinnacle Point Estate in Mossel Bay, east of Cape Town, South Africa.

The four people in the vehicle were staying at a property on the estate and were driving to Oyster Bay at the time of the accident.

A female individual was seriously injured and two males and a female sustained minor injuries when the golf buggy crashed.

Paramedics arrived at the scene quickly and took the unnamed four to a local hospital, as reported by Need To Know.

Pinnacle Point Estate general manager Charl van der Linde told local media: “The guests…lost control of the golf cart as a result of what appeared to be a failure of brakes on the downhill section.

“The four occupants of the golf cart were injured.

“Emergency services were deployed and were on scene very quickly.”
