They can be seen hitting him in the head and restraining him.
One passenger then jumps out of the car, opens the driver’s door and pepper sprays him while he tries to shield his face.
The thugs steal the driver’s phone and run away, as reported by Need to Know.
It happened in Cape Town, South Africa.
Some locals argued that taxi drivers should avoid giving lifts to more than two people.
One said “Because of a phone? Thank God he’s alive.”

Another added: “I understand now why some Uber drivers will cancel trips if they see it’s more than three to four guys getting in the car.”
A third person said: “This is horrible.”
Another person added: “Never pick up two guys or more. That is a risk.”
A sixth added: “Spraying him was so extra. Buddy already gave up.”

One noted: “All that for a cellphone?”
