Rubem, 29, went missing on Monday (7 October) and his family members reported his disappearance to the police.

During his absence, they received anonymous phone calls telling them he had been killed by members of a crime syndicate.
A final phone call led them and police officers to the exact location of his body in Manaus, Brazil.
Dad Raimundo Nonato Ferreira de Souza later recalled having a premonition that something bad was about to happen to his son.
He recalled how on Sunday (6 October), Rubem had told him: “Dad, I’m going to take care of a mission, I need to resolve a problem.”
Raimundo revealed: “I felt that something was off. We couldn’t sleep last night. I still haven’t slept.”
The motive and authorship of the crime are still a mystery and are under investigation by the police’s Homicide and Kidnapping division.

Raimundo said: “He was a hardworking young man, dedicated to sports and his daughter. But unfortunately, something went wrong.”
Rubem was a talented MMA fighter and boxer, who, according to his dad, always “went after what he wanted”.
He competed under the name Rubem da Fé in the featherweight weight class, as reported by NeedToKnow.
He racked up five wins, 10 losses, and zero draws over his pro-MMA career.
Four of his wins were by decision and one by submission.
He fought his last pro fight in September 2022.
The police are studying CCTV footage and gathering witness statements as the investigation continues.
