A no-nonsense security guard has been hailed for thwarting a young woman from stealing coffee from Asda.
The smirking shoplifter was caught with SIX jars of £6.90 Nescafe Gold Blend – worth £37.50 – in a blue pouch.
The hero guard ordered her to take off her coat and remove all the items she was trying to pinch.

He repeatedly bellowed at her at a young man she was with who tried to intervene.
Shoppers in the supermarket watched on in shock.
She was stopped at the entrance of the Asda on Hollywood Avenue in the Gosforth area of Newcastle on Tuesday (Oct 22).

The guard first ordered the man to step away while he dealt with the woman.
He said: “Will you get out and shut up.”
Turning his attention to the thief he said: “Put everything down.
“Everything.
“Pull off your jacket, pull off your jacket.
“Pull off your jacket right now.
“Everything.
“Come on.”
As her coat was left on the floor, the woman replied: “Give me my jacket.”
But the security guard continued: “Everything, everything, everything out.”
The jars were placed in a shopping basket before the woman walked away, as reported on Need To Know.
Local, Jim Brady, said: “People saying shouting is harsh.

“I remember when people were too scared to steal because security were savages.
“The man’s doing a good job.”
Charlie Cunliffe added: “Zero shoplifting in that store after this, great job.”
Bryan Barker said: “Top security guy right there, no nonsense.”
One, named Ian, joked: That man needs a pay rise.

“I’m 300 miles away and I’ve emptied my pockets twice.”
Helen said: “Give that man a raise.
“We’ve become too soft in this country.”
Northumbria Police and Asda have been approached for comment.
