A woman and her baby daughter have been found after they were both murdered in their home.
Alejandra Rivas and her one-year-old, María José Rivas, were discovered last weekend by authorities.
The 35-year-old had travelled to meet with the alleged perpetrator, who is suspected to be the father of the baby.

They were both reported missing on 1 November, after their family became concerned of their whereabouts.
Alejandra, who is from the Mexican state of Jalisco, had travelled to Colima, Mexico.

She and her child were found in a property in Colima, and while local authorities have stated that the perpetrator has been identified, no arrest has yet been made.
The family of the murdered mother and daughter suspect the man’s participation in the crime.
They have indicated that Alejandra had a romantic relationship with him for a time and he got her pregnant.
The man, who has been named as Mariano N, was married and in order to keep their relationship out of sight to protect his own family, it is alleged that he killed them.

Mrs. Cristina, Alejandra’s mother, has told of how her daughter sent a message to a friend, as reported by Need To Know.
Her daughter briefly pointed toward the meeting she was about to have, and stated she was scared.
She wrote: “She is going to meet María José, but I am afraid.”
After their bodies were found on 9 November, the family were left in limbo, not knowing what had happened to Alejandra and María.
Due to having no evidence against Mariano N, the authorities have been unable to arrest him.
The Prosecutor’s office released a statement a few days ago.

They wrote: “Likewise, the intelligence and investigation work, both in the field and in the office, allowed us to obtain evidence from the analysis of videos, geolocations, interviews and other clues, where this Prosecutor’s Office managed to fully identify and locate the alleged person responsible for these events,” the Prosecutor’s Office indicated in the statement issued two days ago.
According to information from the FGE, the perpetrator could be arrested in the very near future.
Family and friends of Alejandra and María have been left devastated by her death.
On 12 November, they said their final goodbyes to the woman and her daughter.
Alejandra’s father has stated that he hasn’t been informed of any progress in the investigation, but that he was confident justice would be done.
