A foolish woman was blasted by a firefighter after trying to walk under scaffolding that had been blown over by Storm Bert.

The lady – carrying her shopping bag – wandered down the pavement and under two emergency service cordon tapes.

The entire road had been closed off after scaffolding was left hanging over the street.

It was damaged after the storm wreaked havoc across the UK on Saturday (Nov 23) with speeds of up to 75mph.

The dopey woman was stopped by the eagle-eyed firefighter just in the nick of time.

He said to her: “Are you stupid?

“Get back.”

Pointing at the scaffolding he said: “Have a look.

“Look.”

It happened near Nando’s on Bethnal Green Road, Bethnal Green, east London on Sunday (Nov 24).

Nick Hurst added: “After walking through all the tapes he should’ve just let her carry on and find out what would happen.

“Survival of the fittest.”

Another – named Russ – said: “The fact she walked under three separate tapes shows how thick she is.”

Joe joked: “Who’s mum is this?

“Get her some help.”

Tom added: “I’m sorry but how can you actually be this stupid?”

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to scaffolding in a precarious position on Bethnal Green Road.

“Crews removed the scaffolding from the building.

“Control Officers received the first of eight calls at 4:47pm on November 24 and mobilised two fire engines from Bethnal Green and Walthamstow fire stations to the scene.

“The incident was over for firefighters at 10:03pm.”
