Two other women seem to yank the alleged thief’s hair and whack her in the face.
With around half dozen people gathered around her, the suspect apparently pretends to faint in the street.
The angry women try to drag her back to her feet, but are prevented by other onlookers and she stands up on her own.
While dabbing at her face, the suspect tries to flee the scene but is followed by the first couple.
They are seen pursuing her along the pavement as the clip comes to an end.
The suspect was accused of pickpocketing shoppers in the commercial area of Flores in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires on 14 December.
Flores is popular for shopping, especially during the festive period, making it a common hunting ground for would-be thieves.
According to reports, the couple filed a complaint with the police after the alleged pickpocket managed to escape through the crowd.
The video was shared on X where it has gone viral with 750,000 views and hundreds of comments, as reported by Need To Know.
