A bodybuilder has complained about the conditions in prison after he was jailed for assaulting a woman.
Huang Zheshun, who is currently behind bars, says his experience “broke [him]”.
The 41-year-old fitness influencer, who has close to one and a half million followers online, was jailed after attacking a woman in an outdoor parking lot.
The victim, not named, suffered a fracture and was hospitalised for three weeks.
The incident took place in Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, in October last year.

Huang was initially sentenced to one year in prison in July 2024, but this was reduced to nine months in November.
In an open letter, he now claims being behind bars has damaged his muscular physique – with the inmate allegedly having lost over 50lbs.
Prior to being incarcerated, in order to maintain his weight, he would consume a whole box of chocolate pies, 15 packs of grain flour and 10 packs of barley tea every day.

With protein sources limited, he claims to now eat one can of tuna a day, as reported by Need To Know.
Despite his complaints, Huang admits to having quit smoking and drinking in prison, and his insomnia has also improved.
In a letter, he compares his new body to that of a “spider”.
“As a bodybuilder, I watched my body deteriorate day by day, which almost broke me down,” he said.

“Now my limbs are thin, but my abdomen is bulging, like a spider.”
“The sense of humiliation and emptiness brought by this reality is always tormenting me.”
In his letter, Huang also expressed his sorrow towards his wife and children, promising to reflect on his mistakes and make himself a better person.
