Officers immediately began searching for his roommate, Johnny Rankin Morris, 46, as a person of interest.

Morris was eventually found travelling to Mississippi with a 43-year-old woman named Hailey Cole.

The pair were approximately 1,085 miles away from the crime scene when they were arrested.
A separate incident involving Morris and Cole was reported on 24 December after police were called to a home in Park County, Colorado, as reported by Need To Know.

The Park County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the body of Timmy Huston, 65, had been found.
The pair were arrested on outstanding warrants for failure to appear and receiving stolen property.
Authorities have said that they are both facing first-degree murder charges in connection with Huston’s death.
In relation to Stephen’s death, Morris is charged with first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased human body and tampering with physical evidence.

It is unclear at this stage whether the suspects have attorneys who can comment on their behalf.
