A woman has been killed just days after travelling abroad to meet up with her partner.
Marvil Facturan-Kocjančič was beaten and stabbed to death.
The 27-year-old’s husband, Mitja Kocjančič, is the primary suspect in the case.

He has been arrested in connection with her death, but it is unclear at this stage if he has been formally charged.
According to authorities, Kocjančič was taken to a psychiatric hospital following his arrest, as reported by Need To Know.

It has been reported that he had a history of mental health issues prior to being detained.
The couple began a relationship in April 2024 and were married in July.

They wed in the Philippines, where Marvil was born, and the 27-year-old was travelling to Slovenia to spend time with her husband.
Her murder was confirmed by the Commission of Filipinos Overseas, an official government agency.

The local community in Slovenia has reportedly been left shaken by the news.
The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that arrangements are being made to repatriate the victim’s remains.
Slovenian authorities are investigating as Kocjančič remains inside a psychiatric facility.

The incident took place on 29 December – one week after the victim arrived in Bled.
