A model who went viral after asking men to take an intelligence test on the first date says she now sorely regrets her decision – as it has “stopped” her from “finding true love”.

Candice Kloss, who has a high IQ of 136 and is a Mensa member, sparked backlash after revealing the lengths her suitors have to go to.

At the time, the 24-year-old believed that Mr Right had to match her level of brainpower.

But the demand has not worked out in her favour.

Nearly three years after announcing the method to weed out unwanted lovers, Candice is “ditching” the intelligence tests for good.

“I think it was totally unreasonable for me to ask this of my dates and I really regret it now,” Candice, who boasts 380,000 followers across social media (@candicekloss), said.

“It’s a possibility that I’ve missed out on someone who could’ve been my Mr Right.

“Since stopping the test, I’ve already met such a wide variety of people and I’m no longer so close-minded about romantic possibilities.

“I feel less pressure and dating has actually become more enjoyable now.

“I’ve come to realise that sometimes people might not know much about business or politics but they know loads about another topic.

“It’s been really surprising.”

Candice, who hails from New York City, also says she stopped doing the tests after “getting tired of carrying the heavy papers around”.

She still hasn’t met ‘The One’ but feels much more positive about her chances.

She said: “I’m still searching but I think part of the reason I haven’t met the right person yet is because I can be a bit high-maintenance.

“A lot of the dates I’ve been on aren’t aware of my IQ until a little bit later on and this has helped with people not being deterred by my brain.

“In the past, it has hindered my chances of finding love.

“For instance, I have corrected a few dates before, such as if they pronounced a word wrong, and they didn’t seem too pleased.

“I’m not trying to be a know-it-all, it’s more in a bid to help them, but it only makes things awkward.

“Men like to feel confident and as if they have the upper hand.”

Alongside finding love, the content creator, who earns £47,000 per month from her OnlyFans, is also expanding her cultural knowledge.

She’s ventured to 44 states so far and hopes to complete all 50 by the end of the year.

Her recent travels have also helped Candice realise that even the smartest people in the world might actually be the “dumbest” in other areas.

And to keep her IQ in check, she surrounds herself with like-minded people.

The 24-year-old said: “All my friends are way older, as I don’t really have anything in common with people my age.

“I don’t understand pop culture references or the jokes they make, and I don’t really have time to watch viral videos.

“My best friend is in her 40s.

“I also read a lot about things like marketing, biochemistry, real estate and finance – both for pleasure and to sharpen up my knowledge.”

With Valentine’s Day coming up, Candice hopes her soulmate isn’t too far away.

She added: “I have no current plans and will probably buy chocolates for myself.

“Who knows, though?

“If I can find a guy who’s nerdy, has a sense of humour, is rich and well-travelled, then I might have a chance.

“For me, mutual respect and honesty are the priority over intelligence now.

“I think it’s important to give everyone a chance, as it’s the only way to find happiness.”
