An elephant has been attacked with fire sticks in a national park.
The shocking incident took place on 11 February.
A horrifying video shows a group of people wandering into Bardiya National Park where they threw the items at the animal to “protect themselves”.

The footage was later shared on Instagram.
In an attempt to protect themselves, the residents threw fire at the elephant to drive it away,” reads an extract of the caption.
“We later confirmed that the elephant belonged to Bardiya National Park – a place that is supposed to protect and care for wildlife.
“But how does this act of cruelty reflect protection?”
The caption ended with the words: “No animal deserves to suffer like this.”
The video was taken in Bardiya, Nepal.
