A cruel man has been fined for shooting a puppy after a group of them playfully approached his dog.
CCTV footage shows the small pooches curiously approaching his pet, which he was walking on a leash.
When the leash tightened as his dog stopped to interact with them, the man turned around.
On seeing the other dogs, he pulled a gun from his gilet pocket and opened fire at one of them.
The shots sent the poor pup – and all the others – fleeing in terror.
He kept his gun raised as they scattered down the road, before casually retracing his steps.
Police have launched an investigation after the shooting on Tuesday (30 Sept), as reported by NeedToKnow.
Following talks with the other dogs’ owner, the suspect – who runs a DIY store in Constanța, Romania – was summoned for questioning.
The weapon – an airsoft pistol with pellets, which does not require authorisation but is banned in public spaces – was confiscated.
A spokesperson for the Constanța County Police Inspectorate said: “A veterinary officer who examined the dog found no injuries or trauma to its head, body or limbs.
“The man was identified and, following the investigation, was fined 7,000 RON (£1,200) – 5,000 RON for carrying, using and transporting a recreational weapon without meeting legal requirements, and 2,000 RON for causing unjustified suffering to the dog.”
Neighbours say this is not the first time he has acted in such a way.
