A hydrogen-filled balloon has exploded in a birthday girl’s face after igniting a candle.
Pham Thi Giang posed for photos at the end of her 33rd birthday bash to have a “souvenir snap” of the occasion.
She held aloft her birthday cake in one hand and several gas-filled balloons in the other.

While swinging the balloons around, the largest one ignited the candle on her cake and erupted into a huge fireball.
The flames filled the air and apparently burned Pham’s face.
Footage shows her screaming and dropping the cake on the floor.
She then touches her face as smoke billows from her singed hair.
Pham, from Hanoi, Vietnam, said she suffered first and second-degree burns to 10 per cent of her body.
She said the shopkeeper failed to warn her that this type of balloon is highly flammable, as reported by Need To Know.
Pham also stated that it took her six days to post the video on social media as a warning to others, but she is still too shaken to watch it herself.
She said: “It took me six days to calm down enough to post this video so everyone can review it.
“My friends were asking me how I was doing so I sent them the video, but I haven’t found the courage to watch it yet.
“I cried all day because I didn’t know what my life and work would be like after being burned on my face like that.
“It’s something no one wants, but it happened anyway.
“I hope that when everyone sees it, they will share it with their loved ones to limit such unfortunate things from happening again.
“It exploded very loudly, if you look closely, you can see that the flames rose so high that they burned down the large display of normal balloons.
“If they were filled with hydrogen, it would have burned down the whole restaurant.”
Pham said the incident took place while she posed for snaps at the end of her party on 14 February.
She explained: “As I didn’t have a souvenir snap of me blowing out the candles, I went up to hold the birthday cake and blow out the candles.
“But, out of ignorance, I swung the balloons back and forth and the big one accidentally touched the candle and exploded.”
Pham was taken to a nearby hospital where she was “diagnosed with first and second degree burns on less than 10%” of her body.
She said: “Fortunately, my eyes weren’t affected.
“The doctor said my superficial wounds would heal in 10 to 14 days, but it would take between four and six months for my face to fully heal.
“I hope that, in the future, if people use balloons for decorations, they only use regular balloons that are not too dangerous.
“If they use hydrogen balloons, they should be careful and keep them away from flammable objects such as candles to avoid unfortunate incidents like mine.”
