The man walked up behind the crocodile and pressed down repeatedly on its back.
And he didn’t stop even when the deadly reptile opened its mouth and hissed.
In the video, the man jumps each time the animal reacts but he still continues to tease it.
It happened at the Tárcoles River, near San Jose, Costa Rica.
Croc lover Jose Bonilla shared the video and it sparked a backlash.
The Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) and the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) have warned about the dangers of interacting with crocodiles.
Since the clip was shared one week ago, the MINAE has called on tourists to refrain from any activities which involve direct contact with wild animals.
The Tárcoles River is a place where hundreds of people travel daily to observe crocodiles from a bridge.
Locals were outraged by the tour guide’s actions, as reported by Need To Know.
