The flash flood took place in the municipality of Pasto, located south-west of Bogotá in Colombia, on 7 March.
Three local streams burst their banks, causing floods and landslides in the areas of El Socorro, Bellavista, El Encano and the La Cocha lagoon.
According to reports, 38 people were rescued and 219 have been affected by the floods.
Damage has also been reported to 65 homes, numerous roads, a bridge and an aqueduct in the area.

Farmland was also destroyed and over 10 vehicles were swept away by the floodwater, as reported by Need To Know.
Firefighters found the body of María Fernanda near a ravine on the afternoon of 8 March.
Her sister’s body was discovered the following day among the debris of mud and branches caused by the landslide.

The authorities confirmed that the sisters, who originally came from Sibundoy, were travelling towards the La Cocha lagoon in their Renault Twingo when they were swept away by the landslide.
They then found the third victim and are still looking for the missing man who was travelling with the sisters.

Pasto mayor Nicolás Toro said: “We haven’t stopped, we have a protocol-based time limit to find the body of the missing person in the area.”
