He could be seen picking himself up off the tarmac and holding his face with his hand.
The horror attack was filmed by a bystander, as reported by Need To Know.
It happened on the bustling, popular Beach Road in Pattaya, Thailand, in the early hours of this (25 Mar) morning,
Emergency responders were called to the scene and gave the wounded tourist first aid before taking him to a hospital.
He was left with abrasions all over his body, a swollen face, and a cut eyebrow after the beating.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old German national David Adrian Lelonek, spoke to the police through an interpreter.
He told how he was suddenly set upon by the large group.
But bizarrely, he said he had no memory of what triggered the attack.
Three men suspected of taking part in the beating were arrested not far from the scene within hours of the crime.

The trio – aged 18, 25, and 27 – confessed to joining in the attack after spotting a motorcycle taxi driver fighting with the tourist.
They told the police they had assumed the latter was in the wrong and wanted to defend their fellow countryman.
The search for the remaining attackers continues.
