The alleged theft took place after the lorry collided with another vehicle on the Arco Norte highway in Jilotepec near Mexico City, Mexico.
The impact caused the lorry to flip over yesterday morning (2 Apr).
Lying on its side, the trailer’s expensive cargo was visible through the torn tarpaulin.
Eagle-eyed residents then took advantage of the driver’s misfortune to plunder the bikes, as reported by Need To Know.
It’s unclear how many motorcycles were stolen in the impromptu raid.
It is also unknown if the lorry driver was injured in the crash.
The police have confirmed that an investigation into the accident and alleged looting of goods is underway.
One local said: “That’s why we’re in such a mess, because of stupid people like this.”

Luis added: “A bunch of thieves without empathy or education.”
Sergio said: “Mexico needs people who will help, support, and create jobs. These people shouldn’t exist.”
