An influencer has been left disfigured after her blender exploded in her face while making celery juice.
Kimberly, 26, better known online as ‘Kimmy Dutchy’, suffered first-degree burns to her face as well as a badly damaged cornea in her left eye.
She was mixing celery and water in her Nutribullet blender when she stepped away for “no more than two minutes”.

The Dutch influencer, who boasts 183,000 followers on Instagram, said she didn’t expect the contents to get so hot.
According to Kimberly, the blender did not feel warm to the touch.

However, when she opened the lid, everything went wrong.
She explained: “I had to use force to open it, and then everything squirted in my face.
“That’s where the nightmare started.”
Kimberly called for an ambulance and was rushed to the hospital, where she received a grim diagnosis.
She had sustained first-degree burns to the area around her nose and left eye, as well as damage to the cornea of over 50 per cent.

The injury has left her visually impaired in that eye.
She said: “Several eye tests have been carried out, but it is not clear yet whether my vision will ever improve again.”
The influencer hopes to learn more about the extent of the eye injury in the coming weeks.
Kimberly, from Amsterdam, said the accident took place last Thursday (10 Apr).
She has been posting updates on her popular Instagram and TikTok pages, as reported by Need To Know.
Kimberly also launched a GoFundMe fundraising campaign to raise money for private care, as she was unimpressed with the care provided at her local hospital.
The page states: “The regular hospital offers little hope for a full recovery, which is why I want to raise money this way for urgent examinations for my eye and cornea, which is most affected.

“And examinations and treatments at a private clinic specialising in burn injuries.”
She said she also hopes to “create awareness” as this appliance is in “millions of kitchens all over the world, including children’s kitchens, but it has no safety features”.
Kimberly explained that the instructions state that if the bottom of the device gets hot, you should wait 15 minutes before preparing the blender.
“But I know that many people do not read the instructions,” she said.
“I did not know this myself, but I want everyone to know that this can happen.
“One victim is enough, so be aware: if the device feels warm, leave it alone and stay away for 15 minutes.”
