A brand new supermarket has gone viral for its unusual resemblance to Auschwitz.
The Jumbo Gerrit Roeke opened on 16 April after the space was closed for seven months so that renovations could take place.
Built on the grounds of an old tram depot, builders decided to keep a piece of the rail on the ground.

The train track sits several metres away from the front door, and appears almost directly in line with it.
Its placement oddly resembles one of the most famous images of Auschwitz, which featured the entrance gate with a watchtower.

In the photograph, a railway track sat in the centre of the image and ran underneath the iron gate which led into the camp.
Looking at the Jumbo Gerrit Roeke head on, bears striking similarities to the well-known image.
Many people attended the opening of the supermarket, as reported by Need To Know.

Some were even pictured lined up outside with trolleys ready to browse the aisles.
A mini stall also served people in attendance with coffees and refreshments while they waited for the doors to open.

The supermarket is located in Elburg, a municipality in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands.
Its opening was celebrated in a post on social media.

They said: “The opening of the new Jumbo is a fact.
“This morning at nine o’clock, the Jumbo Gerrit Roeke was opened after a renovation of almost seven months.
“Thanks to all interested.”
