A pet pooch’s ears fall off after its owner tied its hair up in a ponytail.
The woman, surnamed Guo, could not believe what happened after she took her Shih Tzu for a bath.
She attempted to take the ponytail out, and in the process, the dog’s ears dropped off.

Ms Guo was so scared that her legs became weak after she saw her pet’s ears floating in the water.
The dog was immediately rushed to a veterinary hospital for urgent treatment.

According to local press, Ms Guo had tied her Shih Tzu’s ears into a double ponytail for four consecutive days.
This resulted in poor blood circulation and necrosis of the ears, as reported by Need To Know.
Luckily, doctors told her that the injury would not affect her pet’s hearing as it was just a small amount of tissue that had been lost.

The dog’s ears have since been treated, and have scabbed over with their condition being stable.
Since the horrific moment on Saturday (9 Apr), Ms Guo, who lives in Chongqing, China, has called on other dog owners to be careful when tying up their hair.

She has reminded others to pay special attention to the position and elasticity so that blood circulation is not affected.
