An actress caused controversy after injecting salmon sperm into her face during a beauty procedure.
Bárbara de Regil shared footage of herself undergoing the facial with her 13.4m followers.
The 37-year-old was joined by doctor Maria Del Mar Guerra in her video.
In the video, which has 917,700 views, Bárbara had several areas of her face injected.
She had salmon sperm placed in her cheeks and forehead, along with two other procedures.
Bárbara had dermaplaning – a facial treatment that uses a specialized tool with a blade to gently exfoliate the skin and remove dead cells.
She also had an unnamed procedure on her lips and specified that this was not lip filler.
Salmon sperm injections involve injecting polynucleotides, which are DNA fragments derived from salmon sperm, into the skin.
In the video, Maria explained the benefits of undergoing salmon sperm injections.

She said: “Salmon sperm injections revitalize the skin so that it is juicier, prettier, hydrated and with less visible pores.”
The actress seemed slightly tense as the needle approached her face however she tried to motivate her audience.
Bárbara said: “I think the best way to pamper yourself as a woman is by doing these things to you.
“Don’t you feel?”
According to local press, some specialists in dermatology have pointed out that there is still no conclusive scientific study on the benefits of salmon sperm.

They added that the same applies to other products derived from animal species to improve the aesthetics of the face.
Experts have said it is crucial to go to certified specialists for procedures such as this one as there is a risk of allergic reactions, infections or more serious complications.
Bárbara, who is from Mexico City, became popular after her leading role in Rosario Tijeras, a TV show released in 2016.
With a large following on social media, she often shares parts of her life and promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Her video showing her having salmon sperm injections received backlash as some viewers questioned why she was injecting her face with anything.
A couple even labelled the move as “scary”.
Nayeli said: “She said it doesn’t hurt but her face said something else. How scary.”
Soka said: “Hey no Barbara no. Please don’t inject anything.”

“Oh no. How scary. So pretty, and with those things they can disfigure themselves. No,” added Frida.
A fourth viewer said: “Barbara doesn’t need a drop of makeup, much less this, her skin is perfect, she’s super pretty, I hope it doesn’t hurt her.”
“No, you’re very pretty, don’t do anything like that to yourself,” a fifth viewer added.
