A hero Iceland security guard armed himself with a shopping basket to thwart a suspected thief.
The alleged shoplifter aimed kicks at him at the store entrance.
The guard backed away and then picked up the basket to use as a shield.

A shocked shopper filmed the ugly clash on their mobile phone.
The suspected crook then picked up a bag and ran off down the street.
The 17-second video then came to an end.
The shocking scenes happened at Iceland, Walworth Road, Walworth, south east London on Saturday (24 May).

Locals were quick to praise the brave guard.
Others slammed the man accused of stealing, as reported on Need To Know.
Aaron said, “The staff shouldn’t have to put up with it.
“Scum.”
Another added: “These security guards don’t get paid enough.

“In my opinion.”
Joseph Peters claimed, “Can you get much lower than robbing Iceland?”
A fourth joked: “If I were going to shoplift, I’d go to M&S.
“Not Iceland.”
The Met Police and Iceland have been approached for comment.
