A man is accused of decapitating his sister-in-law during a heated argument before parading her severed head around town.
The suspected killer was followed through the streets by dozens of shocked locals.
They said the grim scene created an atmosphere of terror in the neighbourhood.

The suspect, identified as Bimal Mandal, was filmed holding a large machete with one hand while gripping the victim’s head by the hair with the other.
The alleged killer told locals that he was on his way to the police station with the head and suspected murder weapon, as reported by Need To Know.

But officers were quickly alerted and rushed to the scene, apprehending Bimal before further panic could spread.
He is accused of killing his brother’s partner Sati Mandal during a heated argument yesterday morning (1 June).
The alleged murder took place in the district of South 24 Parganas in north-eastern India, located close to the border with Bangladesh.

The police suspect that the gruesome act stemmed from an ongoing family dispute.
During questioning, Bimal claimed that he was on the way to the station to turn himself in.
He is being kept in police custody as the investigation continues.

In a similar case in February, a 40-year-old man was seen carrying his wife’s decapitated head around the nearby district of Purba Medinipur.
The suspect, who was also carrying a sickle, was accused of beheading his wife over a family-related dispute.
