A news presenter passed away after being diagnosed with cancer.
Patricia Fuenmayor was also previously crowned Miss South America.
The 51-year-old’s passing was announced by the news outlet where she worked called Despierta América.

Patricia had worked for the Venezuelan outlet as a New York correspondent and often presented various pieces.
She died yesterday (9 Jun).
She previously competed in beauty pageants, and won Miss South America in 1998.

With a total of 228,000 followers on Instagram, Patricia often shared glamorous snaps as well as videos from her presenting roles.
Her final post, dated 14 February, was a photo of herself and her husband, Jorge Safar Perez, in honour of Valentine’s Day.
The two share a daughter and a young son together.
In the caption, she said: “In a kiss, my life! I love you.”

Since the news of her death broke, her fans have taken to the comments to express their sadness.
One person even highlighted that nobody knew she was unwell.
Fellow journalist Angie Perez said: “Beautiful friend. Rest in the peace of the Lord that passes all understanding. I pray for your children and your husband – that it is Christ filling that void in their hearts that leaves your departure. I’m so sorry.”

A second person said: “No one knew about her illness.”
“Patricia, beautiful and charismatic woman, may God receive you in his holy glory and rest in peace. I pray to God for your family, for your husband and your children to give them comfort and strength in such a difficult time. We will always remember you,” Jessica added.
Nancy said: “Wow, what an astonishment to start the week, open Instagram and this is the first news of the morning. Surprised.”
“Beautiful Patricia. You will always be in our hearts,” a fifth person added.
