A prosecutor allegedly shot his wife and their two-month-old son dead after calling them the “best mother” and “cutest baby.”
Rafael Horta then turned the gun on himself.
The 40-year-old’s body was found alongside those of spouse Cristiane Laurito and their little son Théo, with a firearm beside them.

Horta had praised the pair on social media just three weeks before.
The horror unfolded at the family home on Friday (6 Jun) morning in Limeira – north-west of São Paulo, Brazil.

Horta’s father went to the house later that morning to pick his grandson up for a doctor’s appointment.
After his rings at the door went unanswered, he gained entry to the luxury flat and came across the grim scene in a bedroom.
Cristiane had three bullet wounds to the head, while the others each had a single bullet wound to the head.
Police have since said that Horta had a licence for the gun, which they seized, along with three magazines and 12 rounds of ammo.
Horta had previously written: “The cutest baby who has the best mother possible” in a post on social media.

Police say the victims may have been murdered as they slept, as reported by NeedToKnow.
The motive is still under investigation.
However, Horta – according to his father – had been granted a 30-day leave of absence from his job as a legal prosecutor for the Limeira municipal council by a psychiatrist.
Cristiane worked as a finance and budget manager for the municipal council of nearby Campinas.
She had been a civil servant since 2014.
The family members were laid to rest in Limeira on Saturday (7 Jun).
