A crooked customer walked out of a store with a laptop as the shopkeeper napped on the job.
A security camera inside the business caught the bizarre theft as it unfolded shortly after lunchtime.
The CCTV footage shows how the man entered the store and lingered near the door for a few moments.
He then tiptoed towards the shopkeeper, who was slumped in a desk chair with his feet on a wood bench.
He kept an eye on the dozing store owner as he wandered stealthily around the room.
He had a peek behind a counter before reaching out towards a fruit-laden bowl on the desk.
He picked up a handful of loquats and placed the fruit into his pocket, as reported by Need To Know.
Then, he moved cautiously towards a laptop on the desk, just a whisker away from the snoozing shopkeeper.
He picked it up slowly and silently before carefully retracing his steps out of the shop.
The shopkeeper could be seen drifting awake in a drowsy haze a split second after the thief had walked out of the door.
He looked over his shoulder but apparently failed to notice his computer had gone.
So rested his head back into his chair in a bid to nod off again.
The theft reportedly took place in China’s Henan province.
The shopkeeper reported it to the police as soon as he realised what had happened.
He said the stolen computer was worth shy of £824 (8,000 CNY).
