The fatal fall of a teenage model after a drug-fuelled threesome with an older couple is set to be re-investigated as a potential murder.
Ivana Smit, 18, was found naked and lifeless on a sixth-floor balcony on 17 December 2017 – after plunging from the 20th floor of a luxury flat in Kuala Lumpur.
The Dutch model had spent the night with US crypto millionaire Alexander Johnson, now 51, and his Kazakh wife Luna Almaz, now 39.

The couple – who have a young daughter – admitted to drinking, taking drugs and having sex with Smit, but claimed they were asleep when she fell.
They were later charged with drug use but insisted her death was a tragic accident.
In 2019, a coroner ruled out foul play, as reported by Need To Know.

But Smit’s mum, Christina Verstappen, launched a legal fight, and a high court judge later found the teen’s death had been caused by a person.
She sued Malaysian authorities over the botched probe and on Tuesday (29 Jul), was awarded 1.1m MYR (£195,557) in compensation.
The judge also ordered police to reopen the case – this time, as a suspected homicide.
Smit had been named a finalist in the Top Model Belgium 2018 competition.
She was supposed to leave for Paris, France, on 21 January 2018 to compete in the contest.
