An actress has revealed that she is suffering from ‘broken heart syndrome’ after recently getting dumped by her fella.
Aylín Mujica said she has a condition known as takotsubo cardiomyopathy.
The temporary condition can occur when stress weakens the heart muscle, causing symptoms similar to a heart attack.

The Cuban actress made the revelation on the American Spanish-language morning TV show, Hoy Día.
Aylín, who lives in Miami, Florida, was on the show with psychologist Jennifer Flores, as reported by Need To Know.
Jennifer told the 50-year-old star, “Broken heart syndrome is exactly what happens after a breakup where there was a truly traumatic event.
“Sufferers run away and don’t allow themselves the possibility of loving again.
“They don’t allow themselves to feel.
“They refuse to let their heart beat for anyone again.”

The actress, best known for her award-winning role in the US series Corazón valiente, said: “I’m an expert on that, and I was so concerned about that feeling.
“I’ve always thought that love drives human beings, and as a sensitive artist, I always have to be in love or falling in love to feel alive.”
Aylín asked the psychologist if there was a cure for the syndrome.
Jennifer said: “When you are able to transform that suffering into understanding, you truly begin to beat again, you fall in love again, because falling in love and feeling is a decision.
“Just as you decide to block yourself and freeze up, you can also decide to open up to loving again.
“While you’re frozen, you must be open to the possibility of experiencing love again from a different perspective.
“You’re not the same person who suffered that heartbreak, so what happened to you won’t happen again.”

Aylín said: “I don’t want to suffer again, I don’t want to feel that pain.
“Because it’s a pain I feel right in the middle of my chest.
“So I sort of said to myself, ‘Of course that’s what happens to me’, but I want to avoid it, and that’s why I put my heart in the freezer.”
Symptoms of takotsubo cardiomyopathy include chest pain, difficulty breathing, irregular or fast heartbeat, fainting or loss of consciousness, extreme fatigue, nausea or vomiting, and anxiety or feeling of impending doom.
