A woman has revealed how her “sixth sense” ability has allowed her to predict when disaster will strike – though says it’s a “blessing and a curse”.
Kirsty Vater often has a “sickly” feeling wash over when she’s about to have a vision.
The 32-year-old, who compares herself to the main character in Disney’s That’s So Raven, is only able to tell when something bad is about to happen, though.
Her “sixth sense” ability started when she was a teenager, and, as she’s gotten older, it’s only gotten stronger.
“The ability can be quite daunting,” the content creator, from Leeds, told Need To Know.
“I’m an over thinker and an anxious person as it is, so when I get these visions, it overwhelms me.
“I can’t get it out of my mind, but I know I need to try and prevent whatever is about to happen somehow.

“Although, I am grateful that I do get an insight so I can try to protect people from harm.”
Kirsty was only 14 when she first had an “unsettling” feeling wash over her.
Her friend, who said it was likely anxiety, went home not long after – though Kirsty was apprehensive about letting her go through the front door.
She said: “I just knew something bad was going to happen to her.
“Reluctantly, I waved her off and hoped I was wrong.
“But that same night, she was mugged.

“Thankfully, she wasn’t harmed.
“After that, a few days later, I was completely inconsolable one night.
“I kept repeating my cousin’s name and the word ‘crash’.
“The next morning, we got a phone call to say she had been in a terrible road accident.
“My mum was totally freaked out and said I must be psychic.”
Kirsty had another “gut-wrenching” feeling when her aunt, uncle and other cousin were involved in a crash, and shortly before her dad passed away from a heart attack.
She also predicted her mum’s cancer diagnosis.
Kirsty said: “I was sitting with her in the living room and had the urge to blurt out my question.

“I asked if she had cancer, and within a few days, she got a confirmed diagnosis.
“It was lung cancer and just two months later, she passed away.
“After that, I started seeing psychics, hoping to connect with her and my dad.
“They told me I had a gift, which my daughter appears to have inherited as well.”
Kirsty’s daughter [not named for privacy reasons] predicted when she was pregnant, and with a little girl, as well as an operation that would be needed during delivery.
The 32-year-old, who had only given birth naturally, was shocked when that turned out to be the case.
She’s recently had another vision of her eldest daughter’s taxi home from school crashing – though, luckily, it was just a minor bump.
Kirsty added: “I do sometimes believe things happen because I’ve envisioned them and then blame myself.
“But I can’t help these visions, they just happen so randomly.
“I could be going to sleep, or out with family, and it’ll just come over me.
“I think it’s a blessing and a curse.
“Nobody wants bad things to happen, and visioning these things can be quite traumatic and upsetting.
“But at least I can step in and try to help the situation.

“It does make me more fearful now I have children.
“All I want is for them to live a happy and safe life; but I know that isn’t always going to be in my control.
“The last thing I want is to have any visions of harm for them.
“However, it is within my control – then it’s worth it.
“I do think it could make my daughter anxious, but she’s very strong-minded and only wants the best for people.
“I feel she will use her ability to protect others.
“Although my hunches are never good, I’m glad I get to know them so I can be vigilant.
“And prepare myself for the worst.”
