A woman has revealed she’s often accused of being a witch as she has the skill to predict the future through her morning cup of coffee.
Maria Ioannou has always had psychic abilities.
She recalls images popping into her mind, even as a child, which later came true.
Over the years, the 55-year-old has left her own mum “freaked out” and even strangers when giving them an out-of-the-blue prediction.
Maria, who gave up her job in a dry cleaners and later as a nurse, now practices being a psychic full-time – despite being accused of being a witch.
“I often had visions or dreams that came true,” Maria, from Hertfordshire, Need To Know.

“I’d know when the phone was about to ring or if we were going to have an unexpected visitor.
“I love having my gifts – except when I feel something bad is going to happen.
“I try to warn people, or prepare them, if I feel someone is going to die.
“Once, I picked up that my colleague’s mum was going to pass on my tarot cards.
“I simply said she was coming into inheritance, but didn’t elaborate on what I saw.
“Two days later, her mum died.
“I often dream of things, usually bad things, that I have no control over.
“I once dreamt that a family member’s cancer had spread, even though they had been given the all-clear.
“This manifested itself after a few weeks to be true.

“I only told my mum and kept it to myself, as these things, I would rather not know.
“I also dreamed a family member would have a miscarriage, which happened the next day.”
Maria made her first prediction at the age of 15.
She was in the car with her mum and had a vision of her school being on fire.
Minutes later, as they drove past, the building was up in flames.
Then, one day, she saw her mum’s cousin reading someone’s coffee cup and became intrigued.
Maria said, “I asked if I could read her cup of coffee.
“I got insights from the shapes in the mug, and other information came through, which turned out to be accurate.

“I started doing readings for friends and family back home, but it wasn’t until I was an adult that I realised my gift was stronger than I thought.
“I was working at the dry cleaners when a customer spotted my tarot cards on the table.
“She was shocked when I told her that the man she was dating drove a white van and that she would receive flowers from him at work the next day.
“But, I had to break to her that the relationship was only going to last another five weeks.”
Maria got a call the next day from the customer confirming her vision was true, where she was dubbed a “witch”.
Over the next few years, she realised no props, such as cups of coffee or tarot cards, were needed and instead used her own intuition to connect with a higher reality.
In her role as a nurse, her gift was used to help pass on messages to patients from the spirit world.
Now, Maria runs her own psychic page and works from home doing card readings, as well as telling people’s futures.
She has also published a book called Adventure of a Psychic Medium.
She added: “My gift is certainly used to help those in need of guidance, hope and to uplift their spirits.
“When I connect clients to their loved ones in spirit, it is an honour for me to pass on these messages.
“I’ve unlocked a magical world beyond our own.
“And if I’m a witch, then so be it.”
