A Mercedes burst into flames at a petrol station, sending fire crews racing to tackle the huge blaze and prevent an explosion.

Video shows what appears to be a silver Merc completely engulfed in flames.

In the clip, plumes of thick smoke pour into the air as sirens wail in the background.
Moments later, a fire engine can be seen pulling up as firefighters jump into action to tackle the inferno.
The incident happened at an Esso petrol station in Ruislip Road, Southall, west London, as reported by Need To Know.

One person said, “The whole petrol station could have exploded.”
Another local said, “Crazy.”
Ahmed added: “Always a fire in Southall.”

A fourth person said, “Very dangerous.”
Someone else added: “Hope everyone was safe, and hats off to firefighters.”

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “We were called at 11:56 pm on 2 November to reports of a vehicle fire at a petrol station on Ruislip Road, UB6.
“Two fire engines attended the scene and firefighters extinguished the fire by 01:03 am on 3 November.
“The vehicle was partially damaged, and there were no reports of any injuries.”
