A teacup was found lodged in a constipated man’s bum leaving doctors stunned.
The patient went to hospital, explaining that he had been unable to pass stool for three days.
He also reported severe abdominal bloating and pain.

An X-ray revealed a ceramic cup upside down in his rectum.
Medics tried to extract the crockery – about 6cm across and 8cm tall – using instruments, but its smooth surface made it impossible to grip.
Attempts using laparoscopy also failed, and medics were concerned that forcing it could break the cup, causing injury or infection.
Worryingly, part of the man’s intestine had already lost blood supply and begun to die.
The safest course was emergency surgery under general anaesthesia, as reported by Need To Know.

Dr Wu Kunda and his team at Dajia Li General Hospital in Taichung City, Taiwan, opened the man’s abdomen and intestine and successfully removed the cup.
The procedure lasted over two hours, and a temporary colostomy was created to allow the man to pass stool.
According to Dr Wu, the man had been too embarrassed to reveal the true cause of his discomfort when he first arrived.
He had attempted to push the cup out on his own, but without success.
“Truly unbelievable, even I was shocked when I saw it,” Dr Wu recalled.
When asked how the cup ended up inside him, the patient reportedly said: “I don’t know, it was an accident.”
