A towering Christmas tree has been toppled over by Storm Bram.
Strong gusts of up to 90mph have been battering the nation, and they’ve now ruined one town’s festive fun.
The council’s decked-out tree could not handle the heavy winds and snapped at the base.

It had been erected near the war memorial in The Quarry, a park and garden in Shrewsbury.
Locals found the toppled tree yesterday (9 Dec), as reported by Need To Know.
Despite crashing to the floor, the lights were still fully functional.
The storm was able to rip the tree straight from the ground, leaving an empty hole where it was placed.
The council secured it overnight with no confirmed plans to replace it.

A spokesperson for the Shrewsbury Town Council said: “We are saddened to see that our Christmas tree at the top of the Quarry by the War Memorial has succumbed to the strong winds of Storm Bram.
“We have taken steps to ensure the tree is safe in its position overnight, and our electrician will assess the situation as soon as possible.
“We wish everyone a safe evening.”
Members of the public commented on the sight of the fallen tree.
