Shoppers were left in shock after a fierce blaze erupted on a market town’s high street, engulfing a car.
The burning car, parked right next to a bank branch, was already gutted by raging flames by the time the emergency services arrived.
A video showed bystanders gathering to watch as firefighters rushed to the scene, with black smoke billowing towards the sky.
The vehicle involved is thought to have been a diesel car.
It happened beside an HSBC in Berkhamsted, Herts as reported by Need To Know.

A Herts Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “One appliance was sent from Berkhamsted station where on arrival, the crew found one vehicle well alight.
“Firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the fire using hose reel, extinguishing it quickly and safely and damping down the area.”
Locals were alarmed by the size of the fire on Sunday (4 Jan).
One said: “Bet HSBC got well toasted.”
Another added: “It was a diesel car fire – nothing to do with electric.”
