A windswept ambulance worker on her way home in the middle of Storm Goretti had to move fallen trees blocking the road with her bare hands.
Catie Turner Kent was faced with the obstacles last (8 Dec) night.
They had been felled by the huge gusts of the monster storm which battered Britain.
Catie was travelling from her base in Bodmin to her home in Newquay, Cornwall.
“Myself and a few other cars were trying to get to Newquay, and we had to clear three trees off the road,” she told Need To Know.

“All the roads heading into Newquay were blocked with trees, and power lines were down.
“Me and a few others had to move three trees off the road.
“I was just leaving base at the end of shift.
“That’s the only reason I was out in that weather.
“I was supposed to be on shift until 12am.
“But because I was working solo, my bosses didn’t want me out working the ambulance on my own.
“One of the toppled trees was being held up by power lines.
“But we worked together and cleared a path through.”
