The suspected leader of a gang that drugged and robbed two British tourists in a “Goodnight, Cinderella” scam has been arrested.
Raiane Campos de Oliveira was detained yesterday (14 Jan) during a police operation involving 51 search and seizure warrants.
Officers say the woman was one of three people responsible for drugging the tourists in August 2025.

The term “Goodnight, Cinderella” refers to use of rohypnol, GHB, or other date-rape drugs to knock victims out so they can be robbed or assaulted.
Raiane, 27, was found in the Chapadão Complex, a group of favelas – impoverished neighbourhoods – in Rio de Janeiro that frequently appear in crime reports.
An arrest warrant for the trio had been issued on 17 August last year, and Raiane was the only member still on the run.
Police say she had been hiding in the favela since last summer and was being monitored, as reported by Need To Know.

She has 25 previous convictions – 13 of them for “Goodnight, Cinderella” offences – and had served six months in prison for one such crime before her release in July 2025.
Detective Patrícia Alemany, head of the Tourist Assistance Police Station, said: “She was the leader of these girls and had appeared in several cases we recorded.
“We had been searching for her since last August and had information that she was hiding in Chapadão.
“We took advantage of today’s operation, went to the address, and managed to arrest her.”
The other two suspects are already in custody. Amanda Couto Deloca, 23, was arrested at her home in Duque de Caxias in August last year.
She had planned to flee to a relative’s home outside Rio state but was thwarted by police.
Mayara Ketelyn Américo da Silva, 27, was arrested in September, after being found hiding in a Rio motel with help from a crime hotline.
According to prosecutors, the trio met the tourists after an event in Lapa in Rio.
They invited the men to continue the night at Ipanema beach, offering caipirinha cocktails laced with a substance that caused drowsiness and disorientation.
Later, they accessed one tourist’s bank account and attempted an unauthorised transaction, worth £16,000.
Although the operation was blocked, they stole £2,100, using £300 to buy cryptocurrency and transferring the remainder in four transactions.
They also took the men’s mobile phones.
The case received major coverage after a witness recorded a viral video showing one of the British tourists, a 21-year-old student, staggering and fainting on Ipanema beach.
The man also filmed the three women fleeing in a taxi.
Raiane has so far refused to give a statement to police.
