An enormous 14ft shark has been spotted circling two unsuspecting divers, who were luckily saved by an alarm from a passing chopper.

The monstrous great white shark was seen from above, edging closer and closer to a pair of oblivious humans.

A spine-chilling video shows the moment a Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter saved the day after identifying the 4.5m-long predator.

Surf Life Saving WA shared the clip online and it racked up a combined 2.1m views, plus over 26,000 likes.

The shark was spotted circling the divers just 10 metres off the coast of Cape Naturaliste, Western Australia.

The clip was taken on Sunday morning (15 Feb), as reported by Need To Know.

The helicopter crew acted fast and alerted the unsuspecting divers to the danger surrounding them.

Fortunately, the pair quickly fled on their jet skis, with potential tragedy narrowly avoided.

Last month, Australia witnessed a spate of shark attacks – with four occurring in just 48 hours in New South Wales between 18 and 20 January.

They included one fatality, with 12-year-old Nico Antic sadly dying due to his injuries caused by the shark.

The savagings were largely attributed to the bull shark species.

A spokesperson for Surf Life Saving WA said: “Yesterday morning, our Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter spotted a 4.5m white shark approx 10m off Cape Naturalist, circling two divers.

“Unaware of the danger, our crew sounded the siren, alerting the divers who exited the water onto their jet ski and headed to safety.”

Members of the public were left shocked by the clip.

One person said: “I have always said we shouldn’t go in the water. It is very dangerous. People should listen to me.”

A third viewer said: “Well done guys. Thanks for your great work.”

A Jaws fan said: “We’re going to need a bigger helicopter.”
