A bus driver has been hailed as a hero for ramming a pick-up truck controlled by criminal “cartel” members during an armed attack.
Dramatic dashcam footage shows the truck pulling up in front of the bus, attempting to block its path.
But instead of stopping, the bus driver rear-ended the pick-up just as the gunmen inside were about to spill out.

Seconds later, he kept his cool and steered the bus to smash the pick-up into a crash barrier.
As the crooks clambered out, he stepped on the gas to ensure they couldn’t catch him or his passengers.
During the ordeal, passengers could be heard yelling: “Hold on!”, “Duck down!” and “Get the children down!”
An interior bus camera shows them crouching down in fear.
The pick-up is believed to have been carrying at least five gunmen from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
They reportedly intended to set the bus on fire to create a roadblock amid the wave of violence following the death of their leader, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes.
After abandoning the vehicle, the men fled into scrubland in Mexico’s Jalisco state, local media reported.
Thankfully, the incident ended without a single shot fired, and no one on the bus was harmed, as reported by Need To Know.
Citlali commented online: “What the driver did was heroic. He protected lives and stood up to those, who are ‘losing’ the battle.”
Another viewer wrote: “The driver’s got more balls than that useless state security secretary.”
Roberto said: “The driver showed real bravery getting through such a dangerous situation.”
Billy added: “He’s awesome. I’d be applauding him if I were on the bus. I salute him.”
However, Liliana offered a different view: “What an idiot. He didn’t think about the consequences. They could have killed someone over that old bus.
“Probably just trying to save it. Maybe he even owns it. Anyway, what a fool. What kind of hero is that?”
