A beauty queen and her six-year-old son were allegedly stabbed to death by a neighbour after she “rejected his advances”.
Karielle Lima Marques de Souza was in a relationship, but the suspect, Rolemberg Santos de Pina, had been trying to get close to her – advances she reportedly turned down.
De Pina, 32, lived on a street behind Karielle’s home and is said to have struck while her partner was out at work on Sunday (5 April).

Local media reports that he went to her house uninvited and stabbed Karielle, 23, and her son, Nicolas Marques Sodré, before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
Neighbours rushed the pair to a local hospital in Ibirapitanga, Brazil, but both died from their injuries, as reported by Need To Know.
After fleeing, De Pina reportedly went to a remote property near Maraú, where he took his own life.

The knife used in the double killing was found beside his body.
Police continue to investigate what may have prompted the attack.
In 2025, Karielle represented Ibirapitanga in the Deusa do Ébano (Ebony Goddess) contest held in Salvador.
She was a capoeira performer and hair braider, and is survived by another child.
