Passengers were trapped on a grounded ‘hot’ plane for over three hours after an airport caught fire.
Ruqayyah Mulla was one of the many travellers stuck inside the cabin after a terminal was evacuated following reports of ‘smoke’ at one of the UK’s busiest airports.
The 19-year-old was stuck inside the plane for three hours before they were allowed safely back into Birmingham airport.

Capturing the shocking scenes, the engineering apprentice shared the clip online, which racked up a whopping 155,000 views and more than 13,000 likes.
“It was chaos,” Ruqayyah, from Birmingham, told Need To Know.

“They evacuated BHX airport due to luggage smoking and potential fire.
“The pilot at the time was told it was a fire.
“We had to stay sat in the plane for three hours, while others spent longer.”
Ruqayyah was stuck onboard her Ryanair flight from Malaga, Spain, on Tuesday (7 Apr).
The flight which landed at 2:20pm was stuck on the tarmac in 21 degree heat, as passengers struggled with the temperature on the aircraft.
The 19-year-old claimed that doors were open for ventilation but no refreshments or snacks were handed out to people onboard.
The pilot was informed that there was a fire in the north terminal which caused an evacuation and firefighters from West Midlands Fire Service to investigate.
Ruqayyah said: “I was lucky to be on a plane for only three hours as some people did have to queue longer.
“Birmingham airport did try their best as they used a first come first serve idea to ensure everyone got off the planes fairly.
“They dealt with it good however, I wish we had been better informed.”

The evacuation caused ‘chaos’ in the luggage claim area, according to the traveller with flights not being allocated to carousels.
She said: “It was chaos in the baggage area after because bags were not on allocated carousels for each flight.
“Everyone was searching everywhere for bags.”
The suspected fire was resolved on the day with firefighters reportedly giving the terminal the all clear.
Jam Press has approached West Midlands Fire service for a comment.
