Shocking security footage shows Maicon running alongside the vehicle moments before the fatal collision.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 8:30pm.
Despite desperate attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering severe head injuries and internal trauma.
The bus driver stayed at the scene and tested negative for alcohol.
He told authorities his attention was focused on traffic and claimed he did not see Maicon – suggesting the victim may have been in a blind spot.
The driver later volunteered to attend a police station to provide further details.
Witnesses said the area was heavily congested with fans at the time, with poor visibility potentially playing a role, as reported by Need To Know.

Football club Cruzeiro said it was left in “profound sadness” following the tragedy and offered condolences to Maicon’s family.
Civil police have now launched a full investigation into the incident.
Forensic teams carried out an initial examination at the scene on Sunday night and are reviewing CCTV footage from the stadium.
Maicon was a familiar face among local supporters and a regular at matches.
He had just seen Cruzeiro beat Red Bull Bragantino 2-1 in Brazil’s Série A.
His funeral is set to take place today (14 April) at the Bosque da Esperança Cemetery in Belo Horizonte.
