A violent shoplifter who attacked a worker in the street was dramatically taken down by a passing martial arts beginner.
Shocking footage shows the suspect, dressed in a grey tracksuit, hurling an object at a staff member outside a Co-op store in Swansea.
He then appears to square up to the worker, who was trying to stop him fleeing the scene.

But the chaos is quickly brought under control when another man rushes in from behind.
Using Jiu-Jitsu techniques, the quick-thinking hero locks the shoplifter in a chokehold before wrestling him to the ground.
He then pins him down, keeping him restrained until authorities arrive.
The stunning intervention was later revealed to be the work of a novice member of SJA Martial Arts, as reported by Need To Know.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Seven months into his journey, one of our white belts was put in a real-world situation outside a Co-op in Swansea.
“There was an aggressive shoplifter.
“Everybody was struggling to de-escalate the situation.
“One of our whitebelts stepped in.
“No strikes, no panic, no chaos.
“Just control, composure, and technique.
“He took the guy down with a choke hold, and back control, then went into mount.
“He was speaking to him and was in full control while he waited for the authorities to arrive.
“He safely subdued the shoplifter using the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu protecting himself and others without escalating the situation.
“That’s what real self-defence looks like.
“Jiu-Jitsu isn’t about fighting.
“It’s about awareness, control, and the ability to handle pressure when it matters most.”
