A mum has been sentenced to six months in an Egyptian prison for adultery and says she’s terrified of losing her daughter.
Nessy Guerra broke down in tears as she revealed the shock ruling had been upheld on appeal.
“I’ve been sentenced to six months in prison in Egypt,” she said.

“We didn’t expect this news and I’m devastated.
“I’m afraid of losing my daughter.
“I’m afraid of ending up in prison in Egypt.
“I no longer know how to ask for help.”
The 26-year-old, from Sanremo, Italy, has been stuck in Cairo since 2022, as reported by Need To Know.

Her ex-partner, Tamer Hamouda, allegedly refused to accept their split and blocked her from returning to Italy.
While Nessy could have left the country, she would have had to abandon the couple’s three-year-old daughter.
Hamouda secured a travel ban preventing the child from leaving Egypt until the age of 21.
He had previously been convicted in Italy for stalking, assault and abuse against a former partner, and later filed a complaint accusing Nessy of adultery, which is a criminal offence in Egypt.
Nessy, who says she is living in hiding out of fear of an attack, insists the claims are false and alleges he has been violent towards her.
She told Italian media in March: “In prison, Tamer brought in false witnesses who claimed they had had sexual relations with me.

“They are all paid.”
Following the latest ruling, she now faces the risk of arrest at any moment, and could lose custody of her daughter in ongoing proceedings.
Despite three extradition requests for Hamouda and a complaint for abuse, she has so far been unable to secure permission to return to Italy with her child.
Her lawyer, Agata Armanetti, said: “Everything that could be done legally has been done.
“What’s needed now is a political decision.”
Nessy added: “We’ve made hundreds of appeals, but no one is listening to us.
“The only thing I’ve tried to do is escape from that man with my daughter and protect her.

“We can’t go on in this situation any longer – it’s becoming unbearable.”
Her lawyer also said: “We’re talking about a man who, in court during the hearing, claimed to be Jesus Christ and said he was on Earth to punish us.
“The problem is not just that a woman will end up in prison, it’s that this three-year-old girl risks being placed in the care of a man like that.
“On top of that, a woman who is a victim of violence has not been protected.”
Italy’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed it is monitoring the case.
